Official Kickoff

Welcome!

A brief intro and bio would be a good place to start! As an employee of dogbreedstore.com, anyone could guess that my passion is all things dog. I’ve been doing this dog thing for a long time so have had the opportunity to be involved with many  aspects of the dog world, from rescue to training to volunteering with my Delta Society registered dog in various therapeutic settings. So why start a blog now? First and foremost just to share my passion, to learn, and hopefully, to inspire. So if you are curious and knowledge-thirsty please join us.

I recently had the opportunity to attend a conference of very dedicated pet bloggers called BlogPaws 2010. Many talented people gathered to share and support each other in their blogging efforts, so a very special thank you to everyone I met there, but especially to the organizers and Carolyn Golon. I can’t foresee where this will go, but would like to start with training, education, rescue , the human-dog bond and volunteering.  All huge topics of their own, so there is plenty to discuss.

Is there a topic that you are particularly interested in?

possible topic->providing an opportunity for dogs to socialize and interact with other dogs. In her book Interpretation of Animals (i think that is the correct title or close anyway) Temple H. suggest that this can be important but it is hard to do with all the neighborhood rules about fences etc.

    Elizabeth,
Enjoyed the blog and related articles. I know you are an English Bulldog lover and have a wonderful girl named Daisy. Possibly at some time you can introduce the blog to Daisy and her work with abused children. Keep up the good work !

    Hi Robbie-
I agree completely. It is difficult in my neighborhood as well to exercise and socialize my dogs as I know I should. On top of that, with three dogs I am also racked with guilt for not spending enough (Is it ever enough?) time with each of them every day. As far as that goes, Patricia McConnell has a great post dealing with what is enough.
But back to your issue. If you could be more specific about the issue I might be able to make some suggestions. Are there any off-leash parks in your neighborhood? Great idea for a blog. You will see it soon.
BTW, have you seen the film about Temple Grandin?
